About PR the Write Way

A bit about me and my company.

I have enjoyed a successful career in the media industry for more than 10 years and set up PR The Write Way to help businesses get the best press and broadcast coverage.

I love it when customers are happy because their work has gained widespread media attention, which in turn raises their profile and helps boost business and custom.

I gained a degree in history at the University of Leicester, which included a term in Spain, and started my media career in Italy. I worked for an online agency and then a monthly magazine in Turin. Then with much improved conversational Italian and a few of 'mama's' recipes up my sleeve, I returned to the UK to begin the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) qualification.

I joined the Henley Standard newspaper and one of my first interviews was with current London Mayor Boris Johnson.

I then moved to the South West and worked for nationally owned newspaper titles Archant, where I gained the NCE senior qualification for journalism, and Newsquest. My quirkier stories were followed up by the national press, and even US TV. Among these stories was a tale of streakers storming a sleepy Devon garage. During this time, I undertook work placements with the BBC and commercial radio station Jack FM. I later wrote on a freelance basis for national newspapers and magazines.

One of my first PR clients was Octavia Goredema of the social enterprise Twenty Ten Club. I have seen her work develop over the years and accompanied her when she was awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace.

In my spare time, I enjoy badminton, travelling, photography, cooking and a variety of dance classes. I am also a keen walker and have walked 300 miles across the north of Spain, from Burgos to Santiago de Compestela, on the Camino de Santiago.
